TVB 45th Anniversary Nomination List Review

My Review On Best Actor Nomination List

Hot Favorite: Kevin Cheng, Michael Tse
Dark Horse: Ruco Chan, Bosco Wong

There's definitely some potential ones that are left out. But hey i kinda like
some of the leading actors in this list. If i were to choose someone to
take this award. It's gonna be
Kevin Cheng! No Doubt! I simply just love
his role for Ghetto Justice. The unhygienic yet full of justice, Law Ba! If
Kevin Cheng fails to grab this award, my second pick would definitely be
Ruco Chan! He's absolutely excellent in The Other Truth as Keith! But i
doubt TVB would give it to Ruco anyway :/ It's surprising this year, it's the lawyer
roles that stands out. Other than the outstanding lawyers, There's
Michael Tse,
His role as Laughing is crowned as a hot favorite for the run. To be honest, i find
him a little too over-rated, and his performance is just alright. He's not at his
best, Other than Michael,
Bosco Wong who is in the same series as him,
did exceptionally well for his crippled-Co role! It seems breakthrough so i assumed
Bosco would be a dark horse for the race. Besides these 4, I'm sure
Raymond Lam would be
nominated in the Top 5, even though i don't find him particularly outstanding this time round. He
under performs for his devil role. Same goes for
Moses Chan. As for Wayne Lai, probably a top 5 nomination but he'll have
better luck next year perhaps? And as much as i like Sunny Chan in Curse of Royal Chamber... I doubt he'll
be nominated in the top 5. Same goes to Bobby Auyeung and Roger Kwok. For Chilam Cheung, I think he's a secret dark horse.
As for the rest of the nominees, they are not too outstanding. the ones i felt that are left out are Joe Ma, Bowie Lam and Alex Fong.
Especially Joe... If only they could replace Ron, Stephen & Raymond's slot...

My Personal Top 5 Pick: Kevin Cheng, Roger Kwok, Ruco Chan, Bosco Wong, Sunny Chan
Most likely TVB Top 5 Pick: Moses Chan, Kevin Cheng, Michael Tse, Raymond Lam, Wayne Lai
Who i feel should win: Kevin Cheng or Ruco Chan
Who i think TVB would give the award to: Michael Tse

My Review On Best Actress Nomination List

Hot Favorite: Fala Chen, Myolie Wu
Dark Horse: Linda Chung, Maggie Cheung

I'm definitely not picking the younger Fadans this year... not that they are not good. but i don't
find them outstanding at all this year. It pales in comparison with the senior Fadans. I find this
list great to be honest. side note, It's actually a big joke for tvb to bet on
Fala Chen to be
crowned as Best Actress. In my opinion, yes her acting is improving rapidly, but i don't think she has the
ability yet (not now, maybe a few years later) to be crowned as TV Queen sorry, same goes to
Linda Chung. Fala's performance as the female inspector in Lives Of Omission is just sub-par, average
job, but i can see a slight improve on her Accent and facial expressions together with her acting, at least
she's not as bad as
Kate Tsui if judging this series, who is practically emotionless most of the time... Personally
i felt that Kate should be nominated for A Great Way To Care instead of Lives Of Omission. She's
better in that series... with Alex Fong. So for this award, If i'm gonna pick my ideal TV Queen,
it's gonna be either
Yoyo Mung, Kristal Tin, Elena Kong, Maggie Cheungor Jessica Hsuan. These
five are so powerful in their acting skills, let's just say Maggie Cheung, Even with a not so
award grabbing role in Forensic Heroes III, her acting is consistent, and convincing. This is what a great
actress is like. I really hope any of these five would be nominated into top 5... if not it's pretty
unfair to them... And did i just mention Jessica Hsuan? Yes i absolutely love watching
her in Curse of the Royal Chamber! As for
Myolie Wu who is in the same series as her,
Sadly... if it's not for Joel Chan's character that's added into Myolie's character's love plot, I won't
enjoy watching her scenes... As for the other nominees, like
Tavia Yeung, This year is not a good and fruitful year for her.
A lot of people would've like Tavia to be nominated for her role in The Other Truth instead, but i beg to differ, i find Tavia's role
in The Ripping Blossoms certainly has a lot more layers if judging from the acting side. Her role in the other truth did not have a
lot of flexibility she could use plus she doesn't appear in certain episodes as well. Besides Tavia,
I'm so glad
Liza Wang is nominated for Home Troopers and not Super Snoops, For Louise Lee, sadly
as much as i like her, her role doesn't stand out that much. same goes to
Selena Li, but it's an
encouragement i guess since it's her first time being nominated in Best Actress :).As for the rest, like
Veteran,
Nancy Sit (Oh she annoys the hell out of me in River of Wine :/) and Charmaine Sheh
(Failed performance), a filler spot for these 2 in my opinion...

My Personal Top 5 Pick: Yoyo Mung, Kristal Tin, Elena Kong, Maggie Cheung, Jessica Hsuan
Most likely TVB Top 5 Pick: Tavia Yeung, Linda Chung, Fala Chen, Maggie Cheung, Myolie Wu
Who i feel should win: Either of my personal top 5 pick
Who i think TVB would give the award to: Myolie Wu or Fala Chen

My Review On Best Supporting Actor Nomination List

Hot Favorite: Jazz Lam, Ben Wong
Dark Horse: Sam Lee, Law Loklam, Pierre Ngo

Can i say ... I'm extremely disappointed with the list. i am expecting a lot more potential candidates for this award.
What is
Power Chan doing there...? and Lee Kwoklunwhat the hell? His role is just a guest in Forensic Heroes III. For
this award. I can say i'm fully supporting
Ben Wong to grab it, there's no one in the list that is better than him this time
round. Ben's role in lives of omission totally outshone all the supporting male this year. I heard
Jazz Lam is also
another hot favorite for the race, but in my opinion i think he's a little too new to get this award. Perhaps most improved
Actor award would fit him more. As for
Sam Lee, i think his performance is okay but don't think he's at his best condition.
But i like his pairing with Sharon Chan. It's fun to watch. Other than the listed 3 candidates, i myself do like
KK Cheung,
Law Loklam, Ram Tseng andNgo Wah, the four veterans of TVB. Hopefully they'll be nominated in the top five rather than
Pierre Ngo whom i felt ... did not do his best for his role in River of Wine. As for the other candidates, that's nominated,
sadly not too attracting... for their respective roles.

My Personal Top 5 Pick: Law Loklam, Sam Lee, Jazz Lam, KK Cheung, Ben Wong
Most likely TVB Top 5 Pick:Law Loklam, Sam Lee, Jazz Lam, Ben Wong, Pierre Ngo
Who i feel should win: Ben Wong
Who i think TVB would give the award to: Pierre Ngo or Ben Wong

My Review On Best Supporting Actress Nomination List

Hot Favorite: Sharon Chan, Nancy Wu
Dark Horse:
Elena Kong

I think it's quite an okay list but why is Aimee Chan nominated in this category? She's just a guest if
i'm not wrong. She should've nominated for Forensic Heroes III instead, that'll be more appropriate. but
either one of the series that she's in this year, she gives off below average performance... which i think she
doesn't fit to be nominated but ... since TVB is grooming her, it's kinda expected she will most likely
be in the top five. As for my Ideal Best Supporting Actress this year, It's going to be Nancy Wu if not then
Elena Kong. Nancy did a superb job as Eva in Forensic Heroes III, her family scenes with her daughter and
Wayne Lai are so heartwarming not to forget, absolutely well managed. I felt that Nancy has improved through a huge
leap this time. so TVB please do give her an award ... this year. It's also about time for Nancy to grab this award
already after being nominated three times repeatedly. As for Elena, needless to say, she's as versatile as always,
as convincing as usual! Her role in Lives of Omission till now still left a deep impression on my head. This proves
the skills of a good actress. As for this year's hot favorite for this award, it's Sharon Chan, who gotten herself
a breakthrough role in ghetto justice where her role receives praises and applause. but i beg to differ, although
Sharon did a good job, still, i find Nancy a more suitable contender to receive this award. Besides these three
hot favorites, There's Queenie Chu and Vivien Yeo. Both of them surprises me this year. but i'm positive
they'll be left out of top five to leave spots for Aimee and Natalie Tong... as for the veterans, Helen Ma leaves the
deepest impression to me, along with Florence Kwok, Ching Hor Wai and Mannor Chan, but doubt they'll ever made it
to the top five :( as for Sire Ma... She's an okay actress but a tad too new for this award. Maybe a few years
time. As for the rest, i don't think they'll have a chance to shine.

My Personal Top 5 Pick: Queenie Chu, Sharon Chan, Helen Ma, Elena Kong, Nancy Wu
Most likely TVB Top 5 Pick: Sharon Chan, Aimee Chan, Natalie Tong, Elena Kong, Nancy Wu
Who i feel should win: Nancy Wu or Elena Kong
Who i think TVB would give the award to: Sharon Chan
